Second Pre-Release Track from Debut Album 'Debut' — Now Available (Sibelius: 5 Pieces, Op. 81 – No. 1, Mazurka)

Ahead of the September 25 release of violinist HIMARI's worldwide debut album Debut on Decca Classics, the second pre-release track — Sibelius's Mazurka, the first of the 5 Pieces, Op. 81 — is now available to stream.

The Mazurka, composed by Sibelius between 1915 and 1918, is the first of his 5 Pieces, Op. 81. Built on the rhythm of a Polish folk dance, the work blends Sibelius's distinctive Nordic sound with dazzling virtuosity, paying homage to the great violinist-composers of the past such as Wieniawski. Performed on the rich tone of her 1732 Guarneri del Gesù "Ferni," the track showcases HIMARI's delicate colour and expressive depth.
